G. Olga Soy
Individual and Couples Counsellor
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist providing in-depth long-term counselling and psychotherapy or short-term work. I work with individuals and couples dealing with relationship issues, finding meaning and direction in life, anxiety, addictions, low self-esteem, work-related issues, creativity, and sexuality. I also offer counselling and EMDR to adults and young people who are looking for improving relationships with themselves and others.
The integrative approach I employ in therapy takes the client’s needs as the basis for determining the right approach. I believe that the therapy should be tailor-made based on your needs and difficulties and that our therapeutic work can only be successful if the relationship between the therapist and the client is one of trust.
My aim is to provide a safe environment in which the client feels safe to explore and build trust. Trust is a key element in building a trusting therapeutic relationship and other relationships in our lives.
How therapy works
We will explore your feelings, experiences focusing on what you consider the most important. In our sessions I will make you feel safe and heard for us to explore on the issues that you want to work on and change. I use different instruments that allow me to understand your subjective world, to challenge you to look at things from your personal point of view. I believe in dialogical relationships that can be crucial for working together on an agreed focus for therapy.
I work with an integrative approach that includes existential/humanistic, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy.
You also do not need to feel you have a major problem to seek counselling. You can use counselling/psychotherapy for improving self-esteem, assertiveness and personal development.
